Read all of "A Manual for Beginners" and "The Question of Dissidence Part 4." I encourage you to read the other parts of the dissidence section if they interest you. It's about 45 minutes of music. You will probably get more out of it if you listen in one sitting, but there also nothing wrong with taking it one movement at a time. Remember to check back in with the handouts on the symphony, sonata and other forms, and musical terms to support your understanding. NOTE: Last day to turn in Brief Essay #3.
